Another iPhone model has been added to Apple’s retro lineup this week. The corporation now considers the 2014-released iPhone 6 to be a relic of the past. According to AppleInsider, the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus will be designated as obsolete in the same way as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus were in February 2022.
Despite the introduction of the more advanced iPhone 6s, Apple nonetheless offered the iPhone 6 as its entry-level model. As with the 2016 iPhone 7 release, sales ceased.
The iPhone 6 series saw the debut of Apple’s bigger “Plus” variant of smartphone. It also featured a whole new design with rounded corners in favour of the square ones seen on the iPhone 4 through the iPhone 5s.
Apple Pay, a secure method for users to make online purchases using credit and debit cards stored in the Wallet app, was also debuted with the iPhone 6.
When the computer giant ceased selling one of its products more than five years and less than seven years ago, it was labelled a vintage item. For the first seven years after a product’s initial sale, or for as long as the law requires, customers may get free servicing and replacement components.
