This raw sugar is healthier than brown and white sugar as it is unrefined and free of chemical such as bleach. It contains minerals like phosphorus, calcium, iron, magnesium and potassium. To make raw sugar, the juice from sugarcane is first extracted then concentrated after which the solution is crystallized. Raw sugar is approximately 96-98% sucrose. The nearly pure sugar crystal is covered by a thin film of molasses, which is then purified and the final product is our golden-brown raw sugar. It can be used in tea and coffee and for baking as well.
