After receiving positive feedback on the Redmi 3 and Redmi 3s, Chinese tech company Xiaomi has surprised us once again by releasing the Redmi 4. The smartphone has a tonne of top-shelf features including a high-definition screen, metal construction, large battery, stellar specs, a fingerprint scanner, and more. More than that, it’s a cheap and tasty alternative.
The primary camera on the phone is 13 megapixels in resolution and has phase detection autofocus and an LED flash. The camera can take photos at a resolution of 4,128 by 3,096 pixels and record movies in full HD at 30 frames per second. A 5 megapixel front-facing camera is included for taking pictures and making video calls. The Hybrid SIM slot can accommodate microSD cards up to 128GB in capacity, in addition to the device’s native 64GB.
The IPS LCD screen size of the Xiaomi Redmi 4 is 5, and it is protected by a Gorilla Glass 5 layer. With a full HD (1,080 by 1,920) resolution, the screen packs an impressive 441 pixels per inch. The device’s unibody construction and metallic finish set it apart.
The smartphone comes with cutting-edge connection options including 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, a mobile hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, NFC, and USB Type C. In terms of sensors, a fingerprint reader is located on the rear of the smartphone, and the standard assortment of light, proximity, accelerometer, compass, and gyroscope sensors are also there. The smartphone has a massive, non-removable 4,100mAh Li-polymer battery.
